The Emerson/Motorola MVME187 is a high-performance VMEbus RISC single board computer designed around the M88000 chipset.The MVME187 onboard DRAM sandwich board has different sizes to choose from and features programmable parity protection or error check and correction(ECC)protection.The motherboard and mezzanine board share a common slot.Motorola software supports mixed parity and ECC memory boards on the same motherboard.The size of the sandwich board is 4,8,16,or 32 MB(parity),or 4,8,16,32,64,or 128 MB(ECC);Two sandwich boards can be stacked together to provide 256MB of onboard RAM(ECC)or 64MB(parity).Stacking configuration requires two VMEbus slots.DRAM adopts four-way interleaving,which can effectively support cache burst cycles.Parity mezzanine is only supported on 25 MHz motherboards.
