  IC698CMX016 is a control memory exchange module.It is part of the PACSystem RX7i platform and is currently part of Emerson Automation,previously produced by the GE Intelligent Platform(GE IP).This module is mainly used to provide deterministic data sharing between PLCs and compatible devices on fiber optic networks using reflective memory technology.It is equipped with 16MB SDRAM,with a working voltage of+5VDC,provided by a power supply,and a current requirement of 1.8 amperes.This module needs to be installed on the mainframe and connected to slots 3 or 4.It is equipped with a fiber optic LC type,with an insertion loss of 0.35 dB(maximum)and a return loss of-30 dB.

  This module is equipped with 16 MB SDRAM reflective parity memory.It is installed on the RX7i rack and occupies a single slot on the backplane.This module is independent of the CPU as it does not require any CPU processing to operate.In addition,it is compatible with the VMIC5556 series reflective storage device network.

  The communication interface of IC698CMX016 includes an LC fiber port that supports a transmission speed of 2.12 Gbaud on multimode fiber media with a maximum distance of 300 meters or 984.25 feet.The supported dynamic packet sizes range from 4 to 64 bytes(with a maximum network transfer rate of 43 megabytes/second in 4-byte packets)to 174 megabytes/second(64 byte packets).This memory module can communicate with up to 256 nodes per network and supports redundant transmission mode operation.

  The front panel of IC698CMX016 is equipped with various LED status indicators,such as OK,CONFIG,OWN DATA,and SIGNAL DETECT.To leverage the functionality of IC698CMX016,it must be installed on an RX7i CPU with firmware version 2.00 or higher,an RX7i CPU rack with power supply,and configured using Proficy Machine Edition–Logic Developer PLC 4.5 or higher.

  The GE Fanuc IC698CMX016 communication module is the control memory Xchange or CMX module of the Rx7i system.This module provides pre programmed data sharing between the PLC on the high-speed fiber optic network reflection storage system and the connected field devices.The IC698CMX016 module can accommodate up to 256 nodes in a single reflective storage network and is compatible with VMIC 5565 series reflective storage devices connected to each node.Each VMIC 5565 device is connected to a 2.12 GBaud fiber optic network through a daisy chain loop through fiber optic cables.The IC698CMX016 communication module can transmit on-site data within a configurable transmission range of 43 megabytes per second(4 byte dynamic packet size)to 174 megabytes per second(64 byte dynamic packet size inclusive).It has 16 MB of user memory(SDRAM)and reliable software configuration from Machine Edition(ME)Logic Developer PLC version 4.5 or higher software.
