Product Description
The FBM202 thermocouple/mV input includes eight thermocouple input channels and one isolated RTD reference junction compensation channel(for terminal temperature sensing).Each thermocouple/mV channel accepts various standard thermocouple temperature ranges,and each provides thermocouple burnout detection(amplification).This input is isolated and grounded from other channel currents.
The module performs the required signal conversion by connecting the electrical input signal sensor from the field to the optional redundant fieldbus.It performs analog input applications and provides configurable options for integrating time and rate of change limitations.

The FBM02 FOXBORO thermocouple input module is a compact and accurate device used for temperature monitoring and control in industrial processes.This module is designed to receive signals from various thermocouple types and convert them into digital signals for DCS processing.
Can be used for FBM202:
DIN rail installation TA,similar to installing TA on other 200 series FBM substrates,is directly installed on the field I/O connectors of the 200 series.These TAs provide on-site I/O wiring to support two FBM202s in paired slots(i.e.,positions 1 and 2,3 and 4,5 and 6,or 7 and 8).When connected to the appropriate TA,the FBM202 module previously provided functionality provided by the 100 series FBM I/O subsystem.TA can be used to support the 100 series FBM02.
The main functions of FBM202 are:
Eight channels for thermocouple signal input

Provide conversion time and configurable change rate limit options for simulating the execution of input applications

High precision
In order to achieve high accuracy,this module combines SigmaDelta data conversion on each channel to provide new analog input readings every 25ms,as well as configurable integration cycles to remove processing noise and power line frequency.
For each time period,FBM converts each analog input to a digital value,averages these values over the time period,and provides the average value to the controller.
Standard design
FBM202 has a sturdy extruded aluminum casing for physical protection of circuits.The casing is designed specifically for installing FBM with various levels of environmental protection,up to ISA standard S71.04.

Red and green light emitting diodes(LEDs)are integrated at the front of the module to provide visual status indication of FBM operation

Easy to disassemble/replace without the need to remove on-site equipment termination cables,power supplies,or communication wiring.
Fieldbus communication
The fieldbus communication module or controller redundant 2 Mbps processor interface FBM uses as a module fieldbus.The FBM accepts communication from the path(A or B)at 2 Mbps fieldbus-if a path fails or switches at the system level,the module continues to communicate through the active path.
Modular base plate installation
The module is installed on a DIN rail base plate and can accommodate up to four or eight fieldbus modules.Modular backplanes are DIN rail or rack mounted,including redundant fieldbus signal connectors,redundant independent DC power supplies,and termination cables.
