Product Description
FBM207B is a voltage monitor and contact input module designed to work with Foxboro's I/a Series®Used in conjunction with other modules in the system.
Discrete inputs can be induced at all common voltage levels in industrial facilities. This FBM207/b/c uses one of several terminal components to match the voltage level of the external power supply.
In situations where input is crucial for power plant control schemes,FBM 207/b/c can serve as a redundant pair with standard control blocks for managing redundancy
The function of the FBM207/b/c voltage monitor/contact sensing input module is a 16 channel DC voltage monitor or a 16 channel contact sensor.Each channel accepts a 2-wire input(FBM207)or a pair of contacts or solid-state switches(FBM207b/FBM207c)from a DC voltage source.The relevant termination component(TA)supports discrete input signals of 60 V DC,120 V AC/125 V DC,or 240 V voltage AC.For voltages above 60 V DC,TA provides additional signal conditioning hardware voltage attenuation and optical isolation.
There are three different types of this module, and each type and its associated TA support discrete inputs as follows:
Each discrete input is isolated from other input currents and grounded. When used, group isolation has external incentives.
The electrical input signal interface redundancy module Fieldbus of the on-site sensor for signal conversion required for module execution. In addition, configurable options for executing programs such as discrete input and ladder logic, pulse counting, and event sequence input filtering time.
This module can be used as a single unit or as a redundant pair(two FBM207).As a redundant pair, the module combination provides redundancy at the field bus module(FBM)level. The field input signals received from a common point are fixed to the FBM backplane through the terminal components of the redundant adapter.Double the input current redundancy module.Input Blocks in Redundant Digital Foxboro Evo?The control software combines information to verify each input/output module and uses the highest quality of processing in the control strategy.
In a redundant configuration, the contact sensing power supply comes from the diodes of each module in the redundant adapter to ensure redundant power supply.
The redundant contact input function block CINR is used for each redundant input pair. The CINR block handles input reads and initializes logical redundant channels. In the CINR block, the same reads are sent to both modules, fully utilizing the fieldbus and logic circuits of each module.
function
The main functions of the FBM207/b/c module include:
Sixteen discrete inputs
Support discrete input signals at the following voltages:
15 to 60 V DC-contact sensing
120 V ac/125 V DC voltage monitoring or switch input
Each input of 240 V AC voltage monitoring or switch input is current isolated.Group isolation has external incentives
?Single or redundant modules
Rugged and durable design, suitable for ClassG3(harsh)environments
Executing discrete input ladder program logic, pulse counting, and configurable input filter time options for event sequences
Local or remote connection of field wiring to FBM207
Terminal components for each internal channel and/or external loop power supply equipment
Various terminal components(TA)have additional signal conditioning hardware to provide voltage attenuation and optical isolation.
Standard design
FBM207/b/c has sturdy extruded aluminum for external physical protection of circuits.
Specially designed for installation
FBM provides different levels of environment according to ISA standard S71.04.
Visual indicator
Integrated into the front of the module to provide the operational status of the fieldbus module,as well as the discrete status of each input point.
Easy to disassemble/replace without the need to remove on-site equipment termination cables, power supplies,or communication wiring.
In case of redundancy, any module can be replaced without disturbing the good magnetic field input signal unit module. The module can be disassembled/replaced.Without removing the field equipment terminal wiring, the power supply or communication wiring
Event sequence
Event Sequence(SOE)software package(for integration with I/A Series®Software V8.x and Control Core are used together with service software v9.0 or higher for event collection, storage, display, and reporting. It is associated with the digital input points in the control system SOE and uses optional GPS based time synchronization capabilities to support data collection between control processors, with intervals of up to one millisecond, depending on the signal source.
Refer to Event Sequence(PSS 31S-2SOE)for more information on this software package and access the explanatory capabilities of the Time synchronization device(PSS 31H-4C2)for optional time synchronization.
I/A series systems with software earlier than V8.x can support SOE through ECB6 and EVENT blocks. However, these systems do not support GPS time synchronization and use control processors, only for the most recent seconds, and on different control processors.
Fieldbus communication
The fieldbus communication module or controller redundant 2 Mbps processor interface FBM uses as a module fieldbus.FBM accepts communication from the path(A or B)at 2 Mbps fieldbus-if a path fails or switches at the system level, the module continues to communicate through the active path.
Modular base plate installation
The module is installed on a DIN rail base plate and can accommodate up to four or eight fieldbus modules.Modular substrates are DIN rail mounted or rack mounted, including signal connectors for redundant module fieldbuses, redundant independent DC power supplies, and terminal cables.
Redundant modules must be located in adjacent positions(positions 1 and 2,3 and 4,5 and 6,or 7 and 8)on odd and even substrates. To achieve redundancy,a redundant adapter module is placed to provide connectors for single terminated cables on two adjacent backplane terminated cables to connect the redundant adapter to the associated TA.
To System Configuration Program Application and Monitoring
Through SMON,System Manager, and SMDH,redundant modules appear to be separate and non redundant modules.Functional redundancy is crucial for these module control blocks.
robustness
The on-site power supply for contacts or solid-state switches is limited in current.
Termination components
The on-site I/O signal is installed through a DIN rail TA.Terminate components and cables with FBM207/b/c.
application area
FBM207B is very suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, including voltage input and contact closure monitoring in power generation, oil and natural gas,and chemical processing industries.
