  Product Description

  The FBM241 channel isolated discrete I/O module(FBM241/b/c/d)has eight discrete input channels and eight discrete output channels.The relevant terminal components(TA)support discrete input or output signals/125 V DC or 240 V AC with voltages below 60 VDC and 120 VAC.Depending on the type of I/O signal required,fuses,relays,or relay outputs with internal or external power and fuses.

  This module comes in four different types,each with associated TA support for the following discrete inputs and outputs:

  Each type of fieldbus module(FBM)does not require signal conditioning and uses 15 to 60VDC input or output signals.Each discrete input and output is current isolated from other channels and grounded.When used in conjunction with external excitation,each discrete input and output is group isolated.

  This module performs the signal conversion required for interface electrical input signals from field sensors to optional redundant field buses.It executes discrete I/O or ladder logic programs with configurable options such as input filter time,fail safe configuration,fail safe fallback,and continuous or instantaneous output.If instantaneous output configuration is selected,then pulse output interval can also be configured.

  Standard design

  This module has a sturdy extruded aluminum casing that can be applied to circuits.Shell designed specifically for installing Foxboro?The fieldbus module provides different levels of environmental protection according to ISA,up to the harsh environmental standard S71.04.

  Visual indicator

  The light emitting diodes(LEDs)at the front of the module provide visual indication of the operational status of the fieldbus module,as well as various input and output points.

  Easy to disassemble/replace

  Module wiring,power supply,or communication wiring can be removed or replaced without the need to remove on-site device terminations.

  Fieldbus communication

  The redundant 2Mbps module fieldbus used by the fieldbus communication module or control processor and FBM.FBM241 accepts communication from any path(A or B)of the redundant 2Mbps fieldbus.If one path is unsuccessful or switches at the system level,the module continues to communicate through the active path.

  Modular substrate installation

  The module is installed on a DIN rail mounting substrate and can accommodate up to four or eight fieldbus modules.The modular substrate is DIN rail mounted or rack mounted,including signal connectors for redundant module fieldbuses,redundant independent DC power supplies,and termination cables.

  security

  The on-site power supply for contacts or solid-state switches is current limited.

  Terminal components
