The General Electric I/O expansion board DS200IOEAG1A has five 26 pin connectors and a pair of 40 pin connectors.The GE I/O expansion board DS200IOEAG1A is also equipped with three PROM connectors,labeled C6,C7,and C8.The PROM module on the GE I/O expansion board DS200IOEAG1A stores drive parameters,which control the behavior of the drive during use.When replacing the motherboard,simply move the PROM module from the defective motherboard to the replacement motherboard to avoid reconfiguring the drive.However,there are several precautions to keep in mind.PROM is particularly sensitive to static electricity,which may damage the files contained on the PROM module.
To prevent this from happening,you must follow some guidelines.When you are ready to replace the circuit board,you must use a wrist strap and connect one end to a metal surface.By providing a method of discharging static electricity onto grounded metal objects,static electricity can be prevented from accumulating on the circuit board.Before removing the defective circuit board,place the static protection bag flat on the workbench and then place the circuit board on top.Store the replacement board in the sealed bag upon receipt.Then,open it and remove the new board.Only hold its side edges to avoid deformation or component breakage.Place it next to the defective board on the protective bag.
