  The 1784-KT/B/1784-KTP communication interface module allows personal computers,workstations,or terminals to communicate with Allen Bradley processors and controllers through direct connections or through the Data Highway Plus network.It is an ISA half length 8-bit card that can be inserted into any 8-bit or 16-bit ISA expansion slot.The 1784-KT series provides the following features:

  The Allen Bradley 1784-KT module allows terminals,workstations,and personal computers to communicate with Allen Bradley controllers and processors through DH+networks or direct connections.The 1784-KT module is a half size 8-bit ISA card that can be installed in any 16 bit or 8-bit ISA expansion slot.The 1784-KT module enables computers to act as active nodes on DH+networks,improving application response by providing higher throughput than RS-232 networks,and it supports connection to PLC-5,PLC-3,and PLC-2 controllers through a single cable.

  The 1784-KT module has been tested on numerous systems.The output connector on the 1784-KT module is a 62 pin D-type housing connector.The available outputs on the 1784-KT module include DH+,PLC-3 serial interface,and PLC-2 serial interface outputs.The hardware interrupts supported by the 1784-KT module include IRQ3(Com 2),IRQ4,IRQ5,and IRQ7 interrupts.Asynchronous connection with PLC-2/PLC-3 controller supports 9600 and 19200 baud rates.The synchronous data rating of DH+is 57.6 Kbaud.The power requirements for the 1784-KT module are 0.4 amperes at 5 volts DC and 0.04 amperes at±12 volts DC.The respective power consumption levels are 2 watts and 0.48 watts,respectively.The recommended relative humidity range is 5 to 95%,and the operating temperature range of the module is 32 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
