  The PXI-4462 NI PXI Sound and Vibration Module is a high-performance measurement solution for sound and vibration analysis.It provides precise and reliable measurement capabilities for a wide range of applications.

  PXI-4462(part numbers:779688-01,779131-01)The PXI sound and vibration module is a dynamic signal acquisition or DSA device manufactured by National Instruments.PXI-4462 is very suitable for various applications,such as environmental noise testing,rotating machinery evaluation,audio evaluation,vibration analysis,machine condition monitoring,acoustic measurement,noise,vibration,and acoustic roughness measurement.This sound and vibration module has a 24 bit resolution and a sampling rate of 204.8 kS per second,enabling simultaneous sampling and synchronization,as well as high-performance noise,distortion,and dynamic range.Some other useful features on PXI-4462 include four channel dynamic signal acquisition and six gain settings for configuring input ranges.The cut-off frequency of the high pass filter of this device is 3.4 Hz.

  The PXI-4462 module from National Instruments Corporation of the United States can handle two terminal configurations for analog inputs,namely differential and pseudodifferential.If the signal source is floating,then pseudo differential configuration is the best.However,if the signal source is grounded or referenced,differential or pseudodifferential configurations can be used.After the sound vibration module is powered on,it will automatically be configured to differential mode.

  On the PXI-4462 sound and vibration module,the simulated overload point in the 0 dB gain range is approximately 10.7 Vpk,which is the voltage at which the front-end circuit begins to saturate.There is also a digital overload detection function that occurs before the module repairs gain and offset errors.Since PXI-4662 detects overload before correcting gain and offset errors,it also captures overflow settings in the ADC filter.

  The NI-DAQmx driver software is the primary software for running PXI-4462 devices and should be installed before installing the device(PXI-4462).This device is compatible with LabVIEW,LabWindows/CVI,Microsoft Visual C++,Microsoft Visual Basic,Borland C++,and Microsoft NET and other software packages/application development environments(ADE)are compatible.The device can be configured using the Measurement&Automation Explorer(MAX)tool.
