  57552-4 is a Universal Drive Controller Module(UDC)for distributed power systems,originally produced as part of the Reliance Electric AutoMax system

  57552-4 is a user programmable control system that uses microprocessors to control AC and DC drives in real-time.It has 256 KB non-volatile read/write flash memory,512 KB volatile SRAM,and 4 KB dual port SRAM.This module can be connected to two different PMIs using fiber optic links.It can be inserted into the AutoMax card holder component,occupying only one slot.A maximum of 10 UDC modules can be inserted into a single rack,which means that a single rack can now control up to 20 drives.It can communicate with processor modules on the rack using multiple buses.

  The panel of 57552-4 has many functions.It has a series of six LED indicator lights.These tags are"Card OK","Operating System OK","COMM A OK","DRV A FLT","COM B OK",and"DRV B FLT".Test switches with numbers labeled 1-3 and NO.Instrument ports marked with numbers 1-4 and COM.There are two sets of com ports.COMM port A is marked as XMT and RCV.The COMM B port is also marked as XMT and RCV.
