  Product Description

  The CI858 unit consists of a communication expansion board CEB,a communication expansion module board CEM,and a mechanical component.All electronic devices and all functions are located on the CEM board.

  The driver bus protocol is used to communicate with ABB drivers and ABB special I/O units.The driver bus is connected to the controller through the CI858 communication interface unit.The driver bus interface is used for communication between ABB drivers and AC800M controllers.

  The drive bus communication is a specially designed rolling mill drive system for sub transmission applications,as well as an ABB paper machine control system.The CI858 is powered by the processor unit through CexBUS,so no additional external power supply is required.

  Drive bus supports hot swapping

  Up to 24 ABB drives can be connected to one Ci858,and up to two Ci858 can be connected to one AC800M controller.If more than one ABB drive is connected to CI858,a branch unit NDBU is required to build a logical bus with a physical star topology.Branch units can be locked.
