Product Description
The REF 542plus consists of two parts-a host unit and a locally independent human-machine interface HMI.Connect the two parts using a serial cable.
The host includes a power board,motherboard,analog and switch input and output(I/O)modules.In addition,there are several optional modules available for other additional functions.
HMI facilitates local control of the switchgear.HMI is equipped with its own power board.It can be installed on the low-voltage room door panel or in a dedicated chassis near the host.HMI is used to operate secondary components in the switchgear locally,set protection parameters,view events,and measure values.
Separating HMI and host can leverage their respective advantages to increase application flexibility:

Easy to install a single host in a low-voltage room.
Equipped with REF542plus,the medium voltage switchgear can become a complete and effective system for power distribution and regulation.The device can be used in fully grounded,low resistance grounded,reactance grounded or non Earthing system;Radial,multi feed out,or circular power supply systems.A large number of optional protection functions can make the device suitable for any application.Both delayed overcurrent protection and directional delayed overcurrent protection can choose definite time or inverse time characteristics.The distance protection used for overhead lines can also be implemented by REF542plus.
Motor protection includes start monitoring,calculation of start times,rotor lockup,thermal load monitoring,under power,reverse power,and load imbalance protection.Special types of products recognized by ATEX for this device can also be used in explosive environments as specified in Regulation 94/9/EC.
High power transformers can also be protected,including differential and restrictive ground fault protection.
Devices used to improve power quality,such as power factor controllers with resonance protection,can also use this device.For higher demand applications,a system containing SUE 3000 units and based on REF 542plus can achieve fast switching between two incoming cabinets in less than 30ms.
The complete set of protection functions required for busbar and incoming cabinets,such as low voltage,overvoltage protection,synchronization and frequency protection,can be achieved.The ability to synchronize with external clocks enables the time scale accuracy of fault recorders and event recorders to reach lms.
Four different communication protocols and a built-in WEB server are available for any type of control system to choose from when starting REF542plus.
All of these features can be supplemented with additional automation functions.Automatic switch switching,motor restart and acceleration,unloading,and any user-defined automatic control program can be easily implemented within the device.
