Allied Telesis CentreCOM micro transceivers are transceivers that comply with the 10Base-2 and 10Base-T standards, aimed at reducing Ethernet cabling costs. The compact size allows these transceivers to be connected directly to the workstation, connecting thin Ethernet or Unshielded twisted pair(UTP)cabling directly to the workstation. With the help of UTP and inexpensive coaxial network media,UTP can support distances of up to 100 meters between workstations, and coaxial cables can be used up to 185 meters in length. The AT-MX10 and AT-MX10S transceivers that comply with the 10Base-2 standard use industry standard Ethernet transceiver chips, ensuring compliance with IEEE 802.3 standards. The AT-MX20T,AT-210T,and AT-210TS transceivers compatible with 10Base-T are also guaranteed to be compatible by using standard ICs.
The micro Ethernet transceiver series products are directly connected to IEEE 802.3 and Ethernet versions 1.0 and 2.0 devices.ATI supports all common Ethernet media for micro transceiver projects in thin coaxial cable(10BASE2),UTP(10BASE-T),and FOIRL LAN systems. The transceiver supports a single AUI and is directly connected to the AUI 15 pin connector, which is found on most Ethernet websites(DTEs).Direct AUI connection reduces wiring costs for installation personnel.
All ATI transceivers are equipped with LEDs to provide status and diagnostic information.LED enables installation personnel to easily install and troubleshoot LAN.An easily accessible and user selectable SQE test switch(heartbeat)is also available on all mods.ATI uses high-quality product packaging to improve reliability.ATI demonstrates a high level of confidence in micro transceiver products with a 5-year warranty.
prepare
The SQE test switch(heartbeat)can be used to provide IEEE 802.3 Ethernet SQE testing. If necessary, place the SQE test switch in the"ON"position. The illuminated LED indicates that the SQE test is enabled. If the DTE does not require SQE testing,or if the DTE is a repeater, set the SQE testing switch to"OFF".The SQE test is disabled in the following situations:the LED is off.Disable the heartbeat function by turning the SQE test switch to"OFF"to eliminate excessive collisions when the Ethernet MAU is connected to the relay.
install
The AT-210T is directly connected to the DTE or workstation AUI connector.Insert the transceiver into the 15-pin AUI connection on the DTE and slide the connector latch into place.Turn on the DTE power and verify that the power indicator light is on.Check to ensure that the SQE test setup is suitable for the above equipment requirements.Insert the UTP cable into the RJ45 socket transceiver on the AT-210T.Check the link LED to ensure that the device on the other end of the link is functioning properly in the country. If the link LEDs of both local and remote transceivers are lit,the station will communicate.Four LEDs provide link,SQE status, polarity, and power information. If another 10BASE-T MAU is located at the other end of the line, the UTP wiring must cross, meaning that TD+and TD-signals must be exchanged with RD+and RD-signals,respectively.If the polarity LED lights up,it indicates that polarity correction has not been performed. If the polarity LED is off,the polarity of RD+and RD-is exchanged internally by the transceiver.AWG(0.4-0.6 mm)UTP cable in 26 to 22 multi wire cables, with 100 required impedance.IEEE 802.3 specification:Maximum 100m(328 feet)UTP cable chain section
