  RDCO-04C ABB DDCS Communication Option Module

  The RDCO-0x DDCS communication option is a module with additional options

  RMIO motor control and I/O board(also part of RDCU control unit)

  BCU control unit.

  RDCO modules can be factory installed with modification kits.

  RDCO module includes fiber optic connectors

  DDCS channels CH0,CH1,CH2,and CH3.The usage channels of these are determined by the application program;Please refer to the firmware manual of the drive.However,these channels are typically assigned as follows:

  CH0-Beyond system(such as fieldbus adapter)

  CH1-Input/Output Options and Power Units

  CH2-Master/Slave Link

  CH3-PC tool(ACS800 only).

  There are several types of RDCO.The type of difference between the two is optical components.In addition,each type can be used with coated circuit boards,which is suffixed with"C",such as RDCO-03C.

  The optical components at both ends of the fiber optic link must match the same type sensitivity level for light intensity and receiver.Plastic optical fiber(POF)cables can be used with optical components of 5MBd and 10MBd.10 MBd components can also use hard clad silica(HCS)cables to reduce their attenuation.

  Note:The type of optical element does not reflect the actual communication speed.

  1.Access the optional module slots on the drive.Whenever necessary,refer to the hardware manual of the drive for instructions on removing any covers.

  2.Carefully insert the module into the"DDCS"(BCU control unit slot 4)marked on the control board until the securing clip locks the module in place.

  3.Tighten the screws inside the packaging.Please note that installing the screws correctly is crucial for achieving EMC requirements and the unit

  4.Route fiber optic cables from external devices to appropriate channels for RDCO.Inside the drive,follow the wiring shown in its hardware manual.Make sure the cable is not twisted or tightly attached to sharp edges.Pay attention to color coding so that the transmitter is connected to the receiver,and vice versa.If multiple devices are to be connected to a channel,they must be connected in a ring shape.
