  CPU-8M ANDOVER is a high-performance central processing unit(CPU)module and network manager for the Andover Controls Continuum intelligent building system.With its 8 MB DRAM,4 MB FLASH,mathematical coprocessor,and four programmable communication ports,including the NetController interface with Infinity's Infinit distributed controller Continuum,it provides network communication and information management within the facility.The low-cost version of NetController can also be used with 4 MB DRAM,2 MB FLASH,and no mathematical coprocessor.

  High speed communication

  NetController acts as a system coordinator,providing integrated global control and monitoring,historical recording,and local and remote alarms for controlling Continuum I/O modules and RS-485 Infinit controllers for your personal building services-heating,ventilation,air conditioning,lighting,access control,smoke control,And more NetControllers communicate with up to 32 Continuous I/O modules through Andover Controls LON communication using RS-485 or free topology bus media.NetController supports expanding up to two Infinit networks.Each Infinet network can contain 127 Infinet controllers and up to 31 ACX series access controllers or DCX250 display controllers.

  An optional Ethernet port also allows NetController to communicate with other NetControllers and Continuum workstations on a high-speed 10 MB/s Ethernet Local Area Network(LAN)using TCP/IP protocol.A continuous workstation can communicate with up to 4 million nodes over the Ethernet.Two different network interfaces are available-you can choose between Ethernet 10BASE-T(twisted pair)cable media or Ethernet 10BASE-FL(fiber optic cable).The Token Ring LAN interface option is also available.Please refer to the factory for details.

  NetController's FLASH allows you to use Continuum workstations to download software revisions over Ethernet.This flash function eliminates the need to perform EPROM replacement on-site.

  serial communication

  The four programmable communication ports of NetController can be configured as RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces,which can connect modems,printers,third-party devices,and up to two Infinity Infinit field controller networks.

  Andover Controls has developed a wide range of third-party software interface libraries,including chiller panels,fire alarm systems,emergency generator systems,barcode readers,elevator controllers,video matrix switches,and more.

  Powerful Andover Controls Plain English programming language.Use to input the program into the NetControllerContinuum workstation.Then,the program is stored in NetController and executed by it.Just like Infinity,a single language is used within the system.

  software function

  The dynamic memory of Continuum NetController can be allocated for programs,scheduling,and/or combinations thereof,alarms,reports,and data logging.Our object-oriented Plain English language has intuitive keyword operation and programming.In addition,Plain English's predefined and customized features,as well as powerful mathematical functions,reduce programming time.

  Optional AUTO-BAUD modem

  The optional Andover Controls Continuum modem allows NetController to communicate and exchange data over standard voice level telephone lines,with speeds up to 14,4K baud.The modem is equipped with built-in data compression and error correction protocols,automatic dialing/answering functions,and supports UPS.

  UPS operation

  Continuum NetController includes software programmable battery backup to reduce or eliminate the impact of power outages.In power off mode,the NetController CPU can turn off I/O power to extend battery life and support modem and network operations for up to four hours.In addition,NetController can be powered up for 72 hours only with DRAM and Real-time clock.

  Modular Design of Sliding Linkages

  NetController adopts a smooth and lightweight shell design,which can realize Natural convection cooling.The built-in connector on either side of the NetController module allows feeding from the power module to the Continuum I/O module through a simple sliding connection.The module is equipped with quick release fasteners on the back for DIN rail installation and does not require any tools.These fasteners also snap into the locked position for panel installation.The NetController module is designed to be installed in an optional NEMA Type 1 continuous housing.
