  45UV5 FIREYE scanner

  Model:45UV5

  Series:Infrared scanners

Product Description

The 45UV5 scanner adopts a sealed, inflatable, and UV transmission dedicated detector glass casing, which includes two electrodes connected to an AC voltage source. The detector response is limited to a portion of the ultraviolet spectrum of a regular flame.

When sufficient energy of ultraviolet radiation (wavelength shorter than the Earth's surface) falls on the electrode, electrons are released, and the gas between the electrodes becomes conductive. This causes the current to flow from one electrode to another.

The current in the detector suddenly starts and ends, and a strong ultraviolet radiation source called "avalanche" generates thousands of avalanches or pulses per second. Less radiation will generate fewer pulses per second. Once the flame completely disappears, the detector output stops except for very rare single pulses caused by cosmic rays. The circuit is sensitive to these uncommon pulses. Therefore, the presence or absence of pulses is the presence or absence of flames; The frequency of a pulse is a measure of flame intensity. Transferred from the scanner to a compatible Fireye controller through scanner wiring.

feature

Igniter flame scanner

1. Power up the scanner and related control devices.

2. Start the igniter.

3. Adjust the scanner aiming to detect igniter flames.

When the flame is correctly seen and the control sensitivity is correctly adjusted, the signal meter should be recorded between 4 and 16. If the reading fluctuates significantly, please readjust the scanner until the highest and most stable reading is obtained.

5. When obtaining the correct signal reading, ensure that the scanner and related controls do not respond to ignition sparks. This is done by cutting off the ignition and attempting to start the ignition using a spark igniter. If the system responds to sparks, aiming should be re aligned.

The Fireye 45UV5 scanner is a self checking and flame sensing device. When powered by a compatible self checking Fireye control, the scanner can detect the presence of flame ultraviolet radiation (UV). Typical fossil fuels that emit ultraviolet radiation include natural gas, propane, methane, butane, kerosene, light petroleum fractions, and diesel. For burner oil or coal powder used for burning atomized steam, Fireye recommends using an infrared (IR) scanner. Fireye offers a complete range of infrared scanners that are most suitable for these applications.

function

The ultraviolet tube, quartz lens, power transformer, and related electronic components are enclosed in an aluminum shell and sealed with high-temperature oil resistant gaskets. The quartz lens is a flat convex type that can increase the sensitivity of the scanner by 400%. A hinge bracket is provided for easy cleaning of the lens. The arrangement of double screws and keyhole slots allows for quick removal of the housing from the bracket. The scanner has a 1-inch accessory for mounting to a threaded observation tube and a 3/8 "threaded connection for purifying air.

The 45UV5 scanner also includes an electromagnetic shutter that can self check the circuits within the Fireye control, used to verify whether the scanner and signal circuits generate valid flame presence or absence information. During the shutter closing period, the detector's optics

The path is blocked by flame radiation. Is the flame detected when the blinds are open. When flame is detected, the generated scanner output is a continuous, periodically interrupted pulse flame signal. This is a prerequisite for triggering the flames of related Fireye controls. Forwarding

install

When the scanner is aimed, the best scanner aiming result can be obtained, so that the centerline of the scanner (observation) intersects with the centerline of the burner at a small angle. The area with the maximum ultraviolet radiation is near the bottom of the flame envelope. If only one scanner is used for each burner, it should be crossed so that the igniter flame can also be seen from the line of sight or perspective. The burner air rotation must be considered (the burner rotates clockwise or counterclockwise). Explained how the scanner position is affected by the igniter position and air circulation. Physical obstacles such as air conditioner blades should not fall within the scanner's line of sight.

application area

When used with Fireye amplifiers, the 45UV5 scanner can be used in single and multi burner industrial applications, such as electric boilers, power boilers, and large furnaces or incinerators. The 45UV5 scanner only monitors the flame of one burner. The pilot and main flame can be monitored separately (2 scanners) or in combination (1 scanner). When observed correctly, the scanner should distinguish between the monitored burner and all other burners, as well as any background flames.
